Strawberry Chia Jam
The perfectly textured, naturally sweetened and healthy homemade alternative to overly processed high sugar store-bought jam that you'll never want to go back to after trying this!
Ingredients
- 3 cups strawberries ripe!
- ¼ cup honey or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp chia seed
Instructions
Meal Prep Instructions:
- wash and chop strawberries
- Add strawberries and sweetener of choice to a sauce pan over low heat, simmer until berries easily mash.
- Mash in the pan with a fork or other utensil. I personally love to blend it with a hand held immersion blender for an extra smooth jam but mash to your preference!
- Continue cooking on low heat, add chia seeds, stir until juices reduce and thicken slightly. Remove from heat.
- Let the jam cool completely in pan off heat. Once cool and thickened add to a glass container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. It will continue to thicken after refrigeration!
